Hi, I am Lenka, and I have lived in the Zlin Region for 10 years.
Design with a Soul
One day I’m at my computer handling clients, the next I’m off chasing inspiration all the way to Finland.
I studied marketing communications at Tomas Bata University, and I use that field every day. I handle PR at a company I co-founded with designer Adela Bacova. We design and manufacture Finnish saunas. What I love about the work is its variety — one day I am at my computer talking to clients, other days we head out for inspiration (to Finland, for example) or to see a finished product and a delighted customer. Our clients span both Czechia and Slovakia. My work definitely does not stop at the region’s border.
Where I Recharge
I miss the Low Tatras, but the Hostyn Hills are right nearby — and my family in Slovakia is even closer.
At first, I saw Zlin as just one stop along the way. The longer I lived here, the more I discovered places I used to simply walk past. Today I have favorite cycling routes, a spot for my morning coffee, and a favorite sauna to clear my head. What I miss most from Slovakia is the Low Tatras, but I quickly found out the Hostyn Hills and the Beskids are nearby. And thanks to the close border, I can be with family in Slovakia in no time.
