The town of Uherský Brod is home to 40% of the district's population, the lowest urban population share in the Zlín Region. Notable natural landmarks include the peak of Velká Javořina (970 m), and folk traditions include the Vlčnov Ride of the Kings festival and the Vlčnov and Velecké búdy, clusters of traditional vineyard cottages.
Uherský Brod is also the birthplace of Jan Amos Komenský (Comenius), whose museum ranks among the three most-visited literature-related destinations in the entire country.
