Welcome to the Zlin Region

Rožnov pod Radhoštěm

Rožnov pod Radhoštěm

The Rožnov pod Radhoštěm district comprises 9 municipalities, the fewest among all districts in the Zlin Region, two of which have town status. The urban population share exceeds 62%. The terrain is largely mountainous, partly formed by the Vsetín Hills and partly by the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, home to the region's highest peak, Čertův mlýn (1,206 m). Atop the legendary Radhošť mountain (1,129 m) stands a statue of the Slavic god Radegast, over three meters tall, and the highest-altitude church building in the Czech Republic — the Chapel of St. Cyril and Methodius.
The Wallachian Open Air Museum, the most-visited museum in the Zlín Region, draws over a quarter of a million visitors each year, and the treasure of Wallachia, Zubří embroidery, can take up to 500 hours of work for a single 40×40 cm piece.
